โจทย์ของลินคือไม้ชี้รูปมือไว้ใช้ชี้สไลด์เวลาสอนหนังสือ ตัวก้านหาซื้อง่ายมาก ใช้เสาอากาศจาก Shopee อันละประมาณ 26 บาท แต่ตัวหัวรูปมือนี่แหละปัญหา เพราะโมเดลมือสำเร็จรูปที่มีให้โหลดในเว็บไม่มีรูสำหรับเสียบก้าน ถ้าอยากได้รูต้องแก้โมเดลเอง ซึ่งก็วนกลับไปที่ปัญหาเดิมคือต้องใช้โปรแกรม CAD เป็นค่ะ

วิธีของลินคือบรีฟน้อง Claude ตรง ๆ เลยว่าอยากได้หัวรูปมือหน้าตาประมาณนี้ และมีก้านขนาดเท่านี้ที่ต้องเสียบเข้าไปได้ รอบแรกน้องวาดออกมาไม่สวยเลยค่ะ ก็บอกน้องตรง ๆ ว่า drawing ของเธอ terrible มาก ให้ไปหารูปมือจากอินเทอร์เน็ตมาเป็นแบบอ้างอิงก่อน แล้วค่อยลงมือออกแบบ ผลลัพธ์ที่ได้คือไฟล์ STL ที่เปิดใน Bambu Studio แล้วกดสั่งพิมพ์ได้ทันที

แน่นอนว่าไม่ได้เพอร์เฟกต์ตั้งแต่รอบแรก เวอร์ชันแรกเจาะรูผิดตำแหน่งบ้าง รูเล็กไปใหญ่ไปบ้าง แต่ข้อดีคือเราฟีดแบ็กน้องได้เหมือนคุยกับคนออกแบบจริง ๆ แก้ไปประมาณ 3 รอบก็ได้ไฟล์ที่ใช้งานได้ พิมพ์ออกมาเป็นสองซีก ทากาวพลาสติกที่ซื้อจากร้านเครื่องเขียนทั่วไป ประกบกันเสียบก้าน ก็ได้ไม้ชี้รูปมือไว้ชี้กระดานสนุก ๆ เหมือนไม้กายสิทธิ์เลยค่ะ

If you think 3D printing is only for people who know their way around CAD software, this story might change your mind. Lin bought a Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printer one day and printed a genuinely useful part the very next day — with Claude doing all the model design. Summarized from the video on the Lin Davoy channel.

The real barrier is the model, not the machine

3D printing turns a digital model into a physical plastic object. If someone has already published the model you want, you just download and print it. The trouble starts when you need something custom: traditionally that means sculpting the model yourself in CAD tools like AutoCAD, Tinkercad, or Blender — a steep learning curve if you have never touched them before.

The project: a hand-shaped teaching pointer

Lin wanted a pointing-hand stick for teaching. The shaft was easy — a telescopic antenna rod from Shopee for about 26 baht. The hand-shaped tip was the problem: every ready-made hand model online came without a hole for the rod, and modifying the model yourself puts you right back at the CAD skills wall.

Let Claude design it, get an STL, print from Bambu Studio

So Lin briefed Claude directly: this is the hand shape I want, and it needs a socket for a rod of this size. The first sketch was honestly terrible — and telling Claude exactly that, plus asking it to find reference images of hands online before designing, made a huge difference. The output is an STL file you can open straight in Bambu Studio and print.

It was not perfect on the first pass: the hole came out in the wrong spot, then too small, then too big. But iterating with Claude feels like giving feedback to a human designer — about three rounds later the file was print-ready. Print the two halves, glue them together with ordinary plastic glue from a stationery shop, slide in the rod, and you have a magic-wand-style pointer.

Two briefing tricks that raise the quality

First: once you land on a design you like, ask Claude to save the Design Core Concept as an instruction or a reusable skill. The next project starts from that baseline instead of from zero. Second: give Claude your context upfront — that you slice with Bambu Studio and print on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini — so the designs actually fit your machine and workflow.

The wall that used to keep beginners out of 3D printing was CAD skills, not printer prices. With sub-10,000-baht machines like the A1 Mini and Claude handling the hardest part — custom model design — you really can go from unboxing to a usable printed part in a day.
