Data Source
The data used in this analysis was collected using a “Web Scraper” tool that extracted information from Shopee’s product listing pages. We searched for the keyword “Kumon toy” and collected key product information such as:
- Product_name
- Sales_volume
- Price
- Reviews, shop info, and any tags present in the product titles
The data was saved in .csv format and then cleaned and analyzed using Python (Pandas + RegEx).
Analysis Method
After scraping, we extracted the content within square brackets [ ] to use as “tags” for product grouping.
Detected tags include:
- [Official]
- [Sony Thailand Warranty 1 Year]
- [Thai Service Center]
- [Warranty Included / Shop Warranty]
- [Dual Sense], [Up to 1,000 THB Off]
Analysis Steps
1) Extract the text within [ ] from product_name.
2) Group similar tags together, for example:
- [Sony Thailand Warranty 1 Year], [Thai Service Center], [Warranty Included] → Warranty Group
- [Official] → Official Group
- Other tags that don’t fit the criteria → Others Group
3) Calculate the average sales volume and number of products using each tag group.
Analysis Results
The table below summarizes the results of tag grouping and their respective average sales volumes.
In-Depth Analysis
- Products with the [Official] tag had the highest average sales, despite being fewer in number – showing that official brand listings earn greater consumer trust.
- The [Warranty] group also performed well, with a noticeably higher average sales volume than the “Others” group.
- Tags in the “Others” group that don’t build confidence or credibility showed the lowest average sales.
Recommendations for Sellers
- If you sell authentic products or are an authorized distributor, include the tag [Official] in your product title.
- If your product comes with an official warranty, clearly state it using tags like [Warranty Included].
- Avoid using unclear or generic titles that fail to highlight key selling points – this could lead to missed sales opportunities.
