Claude Fable 5 คืออะไร?
Fable 5 เป็นโมเดลระดับ Mythos-class ตัวใหม่ล่าสุดของ Anthropic มาพร้อม Context Window ขนาดใหญ่มาก เก็บข้อมูลได้เยอะ และถูกวางตัวเป็นโมเดลที่ฉลาดที่สุดที่เปิดให้คนทั่วไปใช้ ชื่อ “Fable” แปลว่านิทาน/ตำนาน ซึ่งล้อมาจากพี่ของมันคือ Claude Mythos 5 โมเดลที่แรงถึงขั้นเจาะระบบได้ Anthropic เลยเอา Mythos มา “เนิร์ฟ” ใส่มาตรการความปลอดภัยเพิ่ม แล้วปล่อยออกมาเป็น Fable ให้คนทั่วไปใช้แทน ส่วน Mythos ตัวเต็มจะเปิดให้เฉพาะองค์กรที่ผ่านการอนุมัติเท่านั้น
มาตรการความปลอดภัยที่ว่าคือ ถ้าถามคำถามเกี่ยวกับ Cybersecurity หรือ Biology ที่เข้าข่ายเสี่ยง ระบบจะส่งคำถามไปให้ Opus 4.8 ตอบแทนโดยอัตโนมัติ (และไม่คิดราคา Fable สำหรับคำตอบนั้น) นอกจากนี้การใช้ Fable ยังมี Data Retention 30 วันเพื่อการมอนิเตอร์ความปลอดภัยด้วย
จุดเด่นของ Fable คือการวางแผนหลายขั้นตอน มันจะประเมินก่อนว่างานยากหรือง่าย ต้องแตกงานยังไง แล้วค่อยลงมือทำ เหมาะกับงาน Agent ระยะยาวและ Coding โหดๆ แบบข้ามวันข้ามคืน

Fable 5 ปล่อยครั้งแรกวันที่ 9 มิถุนายน แต่ไม่ทัน 3 วัน Donald Trump ก็ออกมาบอกว่าโมเดลนี้ “ฉลาดเกินไป” และสั่งให้ใช้ได้เฉพาะพลเมืองอเมริกาในอเมริกาเท่านั้น ฝั่ง Anthropic ก็ตอบว่าแยกไม่ออกหรอกว่าใครเป็นพลเมืองจริงหรือไม่จริง สุดท้ายการเข้าถึงเลยถูกระงับไปพักใหญ่ จนวันที่ 1 กรกฎาคม Anthropic ประกาศว่าเคลียร์กันเรียบร้อยแล้ว และเปิดให้ใช้ Fable ได้อีกครั้ง

ตอนนี้ Anthropic เปิด “Fable 5 Promotional Access” ให้คนที่จ่ายแพ็คเกจรายเดือนอยู่แล้ว ไม่ว่าจะ Pro, Max หรือ Enterprise ใช้ Fable 5 ได้ในแพ็คเกจ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1–7 กรกฎาคมเท่านั้น หลังจากนั้นถ้าอยากใช้ต่อ ต้องเติมเงินเพิ่มเป็น Usage Credits แยกต่างหาก ไม่ว่าคุณจะจ่ายเดือนละ $20, $100 หรือ $200 ก็ตาม

ความยาก-ง่ายของงานคือตัวตัดสินว่าควรใช้โมเดลไหน ถ้าสั่งให้สร้างระบบ ERP หรือระบบบัญชีทั้งระบบ อันนี้ต้องใช้ตัวท็อป แต่ถ้าแค่ตรวจแกรมม่าหรือช่วยเขียนอีเมลสุภาพ Haiku ก็เพียงพอแล้ว
สรุป: ควรจ่ายไหม?
Fable ฉลาดกว่าจริง แต่ถ้าเทียบแบบบ้านๆ สมมุติ Opus ทำได้ 80 คะแนน Fable อาจได้ 90 คะแนน ส่วนต่าง 10 คะแนนกับราคาที่แพงกว่า 2 เท่า และไม่รวมอยู่ในแพ็คเกจเหมา ทำให้ในการใช้งานจริงเราแทบไม่ได้ใช้ Fable เลย ถ้าต้องจ่ายเพิ่มเองก็ยังไม่ซื้อ แต่เมื่อไหร่ที่มันเข้ามาอยู่ในแพ็คเกจเหมา จะใช้ทันที ส่วนใครที่เปิดใช้ระดับองค์กรก็ต้องระวังค่าใช้จ่ายส่วนนี้ให้ดี เพราะ Fable น่าจะเป็นวิธีที่ Anthropic ใช้ถัวต้นทุนจากแพ็คเกจเหมาที่น่าจะขาดทุนกับ Heavy Users อยู่

What is Claude Fable 5?
Fable 5 is Anthropic’s new Mythos-class model — a huge context window, strong long-horizon planning, and positioned as the smartest generally available Claude. The name comes from its sibling Claude Mythos 5, a model so capable it raised security concerns. Anthropic added extra safeguards to Mythos and released the result as Fable for the public, while full Mythos access is limited to approved organizations.
The safeguards: risky cybersecurity and biology queries are automatically rerouted to Opus 4.8 (and you’re not charged Fable prices for those), and using Fable requires 30-day data retention for safety monitoring. Its strength is multi-step planning — it assesses task difficulty, breaks work down, then executes. Built for long-running agent work and heavy coding sessions.
The Drama Timeline
Fable 5 first launched on June 9. Within three days, Donald Trump declared the model “too smart” and restricted it to US citizens on US soil. Anthropic responded that it had no way to verify citizenship, and access ended up suspended — until July 1, when Anthropic announced things were cleared up and restored access.
Promotional Access: July 1–7 Only
Right now there’s “Fable 5 Promotional Access”: all paid plans — Pro, Max, Enterprise — include Fable 5 until July 7. After that, using Fable requires topping up separate usage credits, no matter whether you pay $20, $100, or $200 a month. Fair warning: it burns tokens fast. A $20 usage-credit top-up bought less than a single 5-hour session limit on a flat plan — the monthly “buffet” is far better value.

Task difficulty should drive model choice: building an entire ERP or accounting system calls for a top model; grammar checks and polite emails are Haiku territory.
Verdict: Should You Pay?
Fable is genuinely smarter — but if Opus scores 80 on your favorite benchmark, Fable might score 90. Ten extra points at twice the price, outside the flat package? In real-world use, that’s hard to justify. My take: I wouldn’t pay extra for Fable today, but the moment it’s included in the flat monthly plan, I’ll use it immediately. Organizations should watch this cost carefully — Fable looks like Anthropic’s way of recouping margin from heavy users on flat plans.
